Congratulations to DRR writer Isabel Reven, who graduated yesterday!
Graduation at the Academy was yesterday. The weather was fantastic and the lake looked beautiful. As usual, it was an incredibly emotional day – I lifeguarded for a party afterwards and everyone looked very dazed and confused. I remember feeling the same way after graduation last year – it’s an odd feeling, being done with high school, and not having to take exams! Of course, for Fred, Victor, Cynthia, and I, the end of the year was even weirder… we left Connecticut on RT 13 just a few days after graduation.
There were lots of graduates on campus today from my and Fred’s class – it was cool to see them! I missed seeing Mogui but she says she’ll be in Connecticut until Sunday, so hopefully we’ll run into each other. I haven’t seen her since my visit to Princeton in the fall, so it would be great to see her!
So ends another school year at the Academy – some are moving up (like Rose, Jane, Noah, and all the rest!) and some are leaving (like Isabel, Beatrice, Holly, and many others…). Also, my brother Carlos (I think I’ve mentioned him before, but never by name!) is a year closer to graduating (after he gets through his exams, that is!) and halfway through high school!
The next week will be a lot of fun! I’m seeing Rose again before she leaves for home, and hanging out more with Fred (he came up for Graduation as well) before he heads home. (This involves a lot of League.) We’re having a blast eating at restaurants near the Academy, seeing old friends, and failing to post (in Fred’s case – I still got you guys covered with new material!)
Today I hope I can convince Rose to watch a movie with me – I am here for a few more hours before I head home to Puedelag. (Yes, “here” is currently the Academy – haven’t been able to say that in a while! Well, since I last visited, at least…) Then I get to see her one more time! And then summer and I are going to become best friends, because Rose will be off in another country…
Upcoming plans: Esperanza and Bruce may come to visit Puedelag! I’m very excited. I’ll keep you guys posted on those plans!
As always, thanks for reading!
