Nothing bad happened to me on Friday the Thirteenth. Actually, the day went really well, including a doctor’s appointment and an exam. However, Saturday the Fourteenth proved unlucky for my floor.
First off, a bat found its way into our trash room through the trash chute down to the dumpster. Not a huge deal for me – not the first bat I’ve encountered on an invasion of a residential area – but it freaked the rest of the floor out, big-time. As I said to Richard, bats are one of the freakier (yet commonly found) creatures that Nature’s managed to create. Squished-up faces, beady eyes, and fangs? And they’re basically mice… that fly? I have no particular fear of bats – it’s more than I’ve had some experience and now know to stay out of their way!
Second bad news of the night was something I wasn’t actually present for – Richard’s phone was, well, destroyed. He dropped it while crossing the street and it got run over by three cars. Surprisingly, the thing actually still turned on! However, the screen is pretty much destroyed, and it doesn’t really work as a phone anymore since the display is just white. Hopefully he has insurance or something…
Anyway, that’s been my Saturday the Fourteenth. As always, thanks for reading!
