First of all, I’ve been busy with work. I finally have weekly hours that are pretty decent and that’s been taking up plenty of my time. When I get home I usually study math for a little (I’m trying to place out of Calc 1 next year…) and call Rose for a little while. She’s wonderful to talk to, especially when she’s falling asleep. She’s incredibly cute and she gets all cuddly and smiley. I wish I could teleport her here for a little while, just so I could hold her in my arms, kiss her on the nose, and run my fingers through her hair. I miss talking, in person, because on Skype I can’t hold her hand or put my arm around her or lie next to her. Sadly, lying on two couches on different continents and looking at each other through a video camera connection just isn’t the same. The time difference isn’t too bad, though, so I’m grateful for that. I’m also grateful for the fact that both of us are really happy right now, which is always good. Not everything in our lives is going perfectly, but (knock on wood) it’s all pretty decent for the time being.
Second of all, I’ve been talking to people online a lot. I reconnected a bit with some of my closest Academy friends (namely Jane, Fred, and Hamilton, who I used to eat lunch with a lot) and Violet. I say “reconnected,” but I really mean that I went and made sure I talked to these people over the last few days. I don’t want to let them slip away, and I feel like I’ve been a bit negligent in actively communicating with them, which is just stupid on my part.
Third of all (why am I numbering these? What are they even a list of?), I actually got a phone call the other day! This is very rare for me so I really appreciated it. It was from Violet, testing a call to my home number. We talked for a little while, which was nice except it was very windy where she was so she was hard to hear. Still, it was good to find out what she’d been up to that day, make sure everything was okay, etc.
Fourth of all, I watched the entire first season of Star Trek: The Original Series. It’s just as awesome as I remembered. While I was doing that, I started (I DO MEAN STARTED, KIERAN. I DIDN’T PLAY MORE THAN A FEW BASIC GAMES. DON’T GET YOUR HOPES UP.) playing League of Legends. I had fun, but I’m still a little confused. I get a little frustrated by complex MMOs, but this one looks like it could be pretty fun. I also took Kieran’s advice and started playing Katawa Shoujo (95% sure I got the name right) and I’m having a really good time playing that. I like the pace of the game and the depth of the characters especially.
Well, that’s about it. I’ll probably post something a little more substantial soon, but I didn’t want you all to think I’d forgotten about posting! As always, thanks for reading!
