Wow, I haven’t posted in a while. Well, pretty much, I’ve been bombarded by studying for this math test and a french test, all in one day. Both counts a lot towards my grade. So I’ve been studying up. A lot. Especially for this french test, so that I can do well on my AP exam next Tuesday. I’ve been thinking, speaking, chatting, and writing in french for almost three days now. Last night, I even dreamt in french. It was a bit bizarre, but I think it’s a good sign.
So yeah, I basically hired a personal tutor for myself to teach me french every night for like 15 minutes or so just by chatting me on Facebook. She’s a young exchange student from Paris (has the whole Parisian accent), so she’s almost perfect as a french tutor. She talks a lot, is receptive, and is always willing to challenge and respond to my horrible french. She makes me correct my own sentences, but does it in a very fun way. Her english isn’t perfect, but she’s fun to talk to. Plus, she gets me to talk in french A LOT. Literally, I’m learning more from this kid in one 15 minute session than my entire french class for a WEEK. I swear, if I keep this up after the AP, I might be fluent in about a year or two. I mean, I love learning French. Although it’s a tough language to learn, I think the culture behind it makes it all worth while. Oh, and she teaches me in the “french way”, always saying “NOT FRENCH” whenever I make a mistake. Then she doesn’t tell me where I went wrong, so I have to figure it out. It’s awesome.
But yeah, about the departure. Some other exchange student left. She was from Scotland, which I thought was cool, so I tried talking to her and being nice and all, but I swear, she’s the most unresponsive person I’ve ever met. I don’t even think she knew my name before she left. I sat with her in the cafeteria several times and tried to spark up small talk in the hallways, but never worked. After a while, I just gave up. Whatever. I think it would’ve been cool to meet a Scot, but she didn’t want to tell me anything about scotland, so what could I do? Well yeah, apparently she left. Sad face.
So yeah, I don’t really have much up in my life.
Au revoir et merci!
