Hello all… sorry for my lack of posting. I hate to disappoint you, but this one will be short as well.
I’m writing primarily to inform you all that I’m going to visit a college tomorrow! Well, leaving today. I’m meeting up with my dad near the Academy and we’re driving down to the college.
The college is Penn, of course! I’m really looking forward to life in Philadelphia, where it’s located. Philly is a nice place, and Penn’s campus is awesome. I’m looking forward to living in a more urban area, rather than life at the Academy which is lovely, but can be quiet. It’ll be a new experience, and one to which I am certainly looking forward.
*break in time*
Currently in Philly! Nice drive down, uneventful and no traffic! Currently in a hotel near Penn. Tomorrow morning we’ll head over there and check in and do all the cool activities that have been planned. (I really really want to see the Dining Hall. Rose asked if this was because I wanted to get a sense for the community, which was a good guess, but I actually just want to see what kind of food I’ll be eating for the next four years! I hope they have, y’know, yummy stuff.)
Philadelphia is pretty sweet, honestly. The neighborhoods vary a lot (there’s a more developed part and then there’s the area around Penn, which is mainly short buildings and lots of great places for food and little convenience stores) which is cool. When my dad asked me what first caught my eye about Penn, I pointed out the window and said “RadioShack!” The Academy is in a really rural area – even the Village isn’t really a large town or anything, just the bare bones of civilization – and I really liked the idea of being around lots of shops, and food, and all that jazz. It’ll be a much bigger community, and I’m really excited about that too!
Okay, sorry, I know these posts are short and probably not what you’re interested in hearing about. I think part of me is avoiding talking about my personal life too much right now because there are other people involved pretty heavily? I do want to post about everything that’s going on, but Rose and others deserve their privacy. I’ll see if I can find a good balanced amount of stuff to tell you, because I really am very happy right now, especially with a few things specifically in my life, and I think that’s worth talking about. (However, to summarize, Rose is wonderful and Fred is making his way through a difficult week. Victor, as far as I know, is having a bit of a tough time as well, especially with one college letter that I know was a disappointment for him (and a surprising result in my opinion, as I thought he was a good fit for the school). But, as is his nature, I haven’t seen much of him.)
As always, thanks for reading! Allons-y!
