So here are the things I will talk about – (I wrote this up a few days ago and am coming back to edit now, so bear with me if it’s a bit… out there)
Beatrice – So I have decided that I will ask her out when we all arrive back at the Academy. That is all.
Work – So, I went back to the restaurant where I worked as a cook over the Summer and they wanted me to come back! I love the family community that is created in a kitchen, it’s really friendly and professional, very much unlike a class at the Academy or and social interaction at the Academy, or really any teenage interaction. College I’m sure will be no different from the Academy in that sense, but I look forward to the day when people are straightforward and speak their mind, whether or not it “hurts someone else’s feelings.” If there is something that needs to be said, SAY IT!
Anyway, back to work, I forgot how much I love the speed that working on the line requires, the stress it creates when you get backed up by over four orders, and the exhilaration that comes when you finally complete everything and you know that it is all done to the best of your ability. The fun thing about working in a restaurant is that you get to create meals from scratch, so each plate that you make will be different from the last, even if it’s the same order. No two salads are ever the same! And there are ways of presenting everything that changes it all, and the way the colors play out… Oh my god I could keep going about how fun it is to work in a kitchen forever, but I have found that to people who don’t work in a kitchen or like to cook it begins to sound repetitive, whereas to me I’m always talking about something new.
This wasn’t even the best part (to those of you who don’t cook, that is). Guess who should walk into the restaurant and order, but Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds (both known for the Green Lantern)! Yeah! They came in and were just chilling with their meals, eating away. I didn’t go up to them and introduce myself, that would be weird (because they were enjoying their meals) and I didn’t take a picture (that would have been weirder), so you will just have to take me on my word that it happened. Unfortunately, that is the last time I will be around to help out until the Summer, so I won’t have any new work stories until then (not that I have talked about my old ones yet…).
Music – So, I have decided that listening to the radio in the car is nicer than the iPod, because that way you get to hear new music, stuff that you might never listen to otherwise. And it’s great! Although I end up listening to stations where I know the songs but haven’t listened to them for a while, there are occasionally some songs that pop out to me, like:
- Forever – Fireflight
- 50 Ways to Say Goodbye – Train
Check them out when you get the chance, they are both really good.
SFH2 – So there’s this new game on ArmorGames called Strike Force Heroes, and it’s awesome. I recommend that you play that before playing the SEQUEL, it just came out a few days ago! OH. MY. GOSH. It’s amazing, I love it, it’s taken up to much of my time already, but I’m still not done playing yet! I need to complete all the medals that you can earn first. So the game is an RPG style shooting game where you play as one of five (or in the first game, four) characters and try to defeat the evil corporation known as “Globex” and stop them from taking over the world. It’s awesome. You level up your characters and buy them better weapons (and in the second one, armor and weapon attachments) until they are the best you think they can be. And then you keep buying them better equipment. Go play it, it’s great!
Doctor Who – Like George, I too am ecstatic that there are only SIX DAYS until the next episode comes out! Not enough time to re-watch every episode, but I think that I’ll be fine!
OK, this was a bit of a longer post for me, but worth it, I think. Let me know if there is anything else you want me to talk about!
I’ll See You,
